Kate’s research focuses on Confucian moral beliefs and how they affect folk moral judgments, especially in the lay judge system. She has a variety of interests on Chinese philosophy and religion as well. Besides all the ancient books and records, Kate also enjoys the company of a well-written novel, classic heavy metal songs, and a good comedy TV series in her free time.

Manya was born in India but raised in Hong Kong. She is a third-culture kid and aspiring clinical psychologist interested in understanding child development across intersecting contexts to inform early interventions that care culturally sensitive, inclusive, and equitable. Outside of work, Manya scouts for Hong Kong’s best restaurants and cafes or hanging out with her dog.
